Dharwad, Karnataka: In a bizarre heist involving chocolates and unconsciousness, the Dharwad Town police have apprehended a cunning thief who targeted victims adorned with gold ornaments. His modus operandi? Befriending them, offering laced chocolates, and making off with their valuables while they snoozed.

The arrest came after a recent incident at Srinivas Theater, where the suspect swiped a gold chain from an unsuspecting individual after plying him with the dubious confection. Inspector Nagesh Kadadevarmath, leading a dedicated team, tracked down the perpetrator, identified as a native of Bihar. The police seized a gold chain worth Rs 75,000 from him.
